They are going to be mad at me...

I am talking about the kids. I scheduled a cleaning for them for next Thursday. It's a new dentist (the old one became out of network)... this means new X-Rays. Don't you think dental work (of any kind) should be free (both pain-wise and cost-wise)? This will actually be Nic's first visit! We will see how that goes!

I've been neglectful...

I promise, I haven't mean to be. This new class is a whole lotta work. I am enjoying it - but it's keeping me busy.

Kids are doing well with summer so far. They went to the library today and got a few books. Isabel just read "Are you there God? It's me Margaret" by Judy Blume. She really liked it - unfortunately, they were out of any other Judy Blume's books this trip.

The kids are going to make Mac & Cheese for dinner (I will be cooking the chicken). Should be a nice, easy night. The weather has been beautiful, so I think I will be taking another walk tonight.

Grocery Shopping Day, Meal Planning, Horse [?] Racing

I didn't wake up as early as I wanted to, but we still got the shopping done with out too much trouble. I knew, before going shopping, I would have to clear out some of the veggies that we still had left over. I decided to cut them up, add some salt, pepper, rosemary and thyme, and then freeze them. I had two large bags; each held zucchini, squash, mushrooms, carrots, spinach, and egg plant. I mixed them [to get the seasonings coated on all the veggies], took as much air out as I could, and then put them in the freezer. One bag is ready for my homemade chicken soup, the other for anytime I feel like veggies! I am pretty pleased with myself, and we didn't waste any food!

• At Fry's [Kroger], I was under budget by $31. Pleased as punch abt that.
• At Costco, I was right on budget - that's even with taking the whole family and having the husband continue to add things to my list. [grrr.]

Report Cards

So, today was the last day of school and Isabel brought her report card home for me to review.
She earned 4 B's, 3 As and a C in Math. [math was not my favorite either]

I am very proud of her. Next year we are going to work towards Honor Role!! I made sure to let her know how proud I was.

Alex's report card will be mailed to me. I hope it's not too bad...

Counting Down the Hours

The kids are due home from school any minute; a longer day than normal. Tomorrow is their last day of school. I cannot believe the school year is over and summer is upon us.


I just read a new post over at Clover Lane about preparing for summer. I am quite envious that Sarah has a game plan. Quite simply, I do not.


As my "About Us" suggests, we live in Arizona. Most outdoor things have to be done extremely early or after dark. I need to get on the ball and start brainstorming some ideas to keep the kids busy this summer. I would really like to cut out T.V. and computer time.

I know we will do Library Monday's for sure... but that's all I got.






Do you have any ideas you'd like to share with me? As a reminder, the kids are 13, 10, and 2.
Oh, and I do have to put some hours in for the bank [I keep forgetting, while I work from home, I am not a stay-at-home mom. darn].
